Introduction: Cardiovascular diseases (CVDs) are recognized as the leading cause of premature death worldwide and are seriously affected by lifestyle choices. The present study aimed to structurally model the health-promoting lifestyle in cardiovascular patients based on cognitive fusion, mediated by cognitive flexibility. Methods: The execution method was descriptive, and the research design was correlational using the Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) approach. The statistical population included CVD patients in the year 2025 who referred to three specialized heart clinics for outpatient examination and had a disease duration of at least one year. A sample of 265 individuals was selected using convenience sampling. Standard questionnaires for Health-Promoting Behaviors, Cognitive Fusion, and Cognitive Flexibility were used. Findings: Statistical data analysis was performed using the Pearson correlation coefficient and path analysis method via the bootstrap test, using AMOS24 and SPSS26 software. The research findings showed that cognitive fusion had a significant negative effect on the health-promoting lifestyle (β=-0.187, p=0.023) and cognitive flexibility (β=-0.201, p=0.017). Furthermore, cognitive flexibility showed a significant positive effect on the health-promoting lifestyle (β=0.541, p<0.001). The indirect effect of cognitive fusion on the health-promoting lifestyle via cognitive flexibility was also negative and significant (β=-0.1087, p<0.001). Conclusion: Therefore, targeted interventions in the domain of cognitive fusion, through cognitive flexibility, can lead to the promotion of a healthy lifestyle in individuals and be effective in reducing the complications of cardiovascular diseases.

The purpose of this study was the efficacy of acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) on anxiety sensitivity and cognitive fusion in university students with body dysmorphic disorder. This study was a semi-experimental study with a pretest and post-test. The statistical population of this study included university students of Payame Noor University of Amlash in academic year 2023-2024. Subjects were first screened using the inclusion and exclusion criteria. therefore, 40 university students with body dysmorphic disorder were selected by available sampling method and randomly divided into experimental and control groups (20 persons in each group). All of the sample groups completed anxiety sensitivity (Floyd et al, 2005) and Cognitive Fusion Scales (Gillanders et al, 2010). The ACT group in 8 sessions based on Hayes et al (1999) model while the control group did not receive any treatment. For data analysis, multivariate analysis of covariance was used. Results showed that there were significant differences between two groups on anxiety sensitivity and cognitive fusion (P <0.01). ACT as a third wave treatment, can be an effective intervention to reduce the anxiety sensitivity and cognitive fusion in university students with body dysmorphic disorder.

Marital conflict can interfere with interpersonal relationships and cause family problems. The aim of the present study was to comparison of mindfulness, early maladaptive schemas and cognitive fusion in women with and without marital conflict. This is a descriptive study of causal-comparative type. The statistical society includes women referred to counceling centers in areas 2, 4 and 7 of Tehran during tow months from Mehr to Aban 2022 and research sample includes 90 women with marital conflicts and 90 without marital conflicts that were chosen by the method of available sampling and responded to marital conflict, mindfulness, early maladaptive schemas and cognitive fusion Questionnaires. For data analysis, multivariate analysis of variance was used. The results show that there is a significant difference between in women with and without marital conflict in terms of mindfulness, early maladaptive schemas and cognitive fusion. According to finding, we can cunclued that this vriables directly or indirectly affect in the formation or increase the marital conflicts.

Aim: This study aimed to investigate the role of cognitive fusion, perception of social interaction and, cognitive avoidance components in the prediction of teachers’ job burnout. The research design was descriptive/correlational study. The population included all male teachers in Ardabil in 2015-2016, of which 104 persons were selected as the statistical sample using the convenience sampling. For data collection, the Cognitive Fusion Scale (Gillanders, 2014), Perception of Social Interaction Scale (Glass, 1994), Cognitive Avoidance Scale (Sexton & Dugas, 2008) and Job Burnout Scale (Maslach & Jackson, 1981). Research data were analyzed using Pearson correlation coefficient and multiple regression methods. The study results showed a significant relationship between cognitive fusion, perception of social interaction and cognitive avoidance with teachers job burnout. Multiple regression analysis showed that cognitive fusion 0.19, perception of social interaction -0.17 and cognitive avoidance components (thoughts repression 0.18, distractions 0.21, changing image to thought 0.19) significantly predict job burnout of the teachers (p

Method: This study was a quasi-experimental study with a pretest, post-test and follow-up. The statistical population of the study included female students of Payame Noor University of Guilan. Subjects were first screened using the inclusion and exclusion criteria. Therefore, 30 anxious students were selected and randomly divided into experimental and control groups (15 persons in each group). All of the sample groups completed flexibility and Cognitive Fusion Scales. The ACT group received 8 sessions of treatment, while the control group did not receive any treatment. Results: The results showed that there were significant differences between the two groups in terms of flexibility and cognitive fusion. Conclusion: The results indicate that ACT is an effective intervention in anxious students.

Aim: Since organization members are among the most important assets of higher education institutes, surveying and identifying factors associated with these sources which can be effective on their members' performance, have gained increasing importance. Accordingly, the aim of this study was investigating and predicting the cognitive distortions based on irrational beliefs and cognitive fusion in office members of Hamadan Payame Nour University. Method: To conduct the study, using random stratified sampling, a sample consisting of 240 office members of Hamadan Payame Nour University was chosen. Data were gathered through Irrational Beliefs (Jones,1986), Cognitive Distortions (Bek & Weissman, 1978), and Cognitive Fusion (Gillanders, 2010) Questionnaires. To evaluate the relations among variables, Pearson Correlation and Multiple regression were used. Results: The results showed that the irrational beliefs and cognitive fusion correlate positively and significantly and have significant predictive effect on cognitive distortions of Hamadan Payame Nour University office members. Conclusion: According to the results, irrational beliefs and cognitive fusion have predictive role on cognitive distortions; therefore, by educating and management of rational beliefs and effective cognitive factors, cognitive distortions of Hamadan Payame Nour University office members could be reduced.
