Introduction: The aim of the current research is to answer the question whether functions related to emotion such as risky decision-making and theory of mind change in all people under the influence of sadness and happiness induction, or according to different levels of emotional processing. People react differently after experiencing these emotions. Method: In order to investigate this question, 60 volunteers, in the age range of 18-40 years old, were included using available sampling method. After evaluating the mood with the Beck Depression Questionnaire and measuring emotional processing by the Baker scale, they were randomly placed in one of the groups of induction of happiness, induction of sadness and control. In order to induce emotional states, the methods of playing short films and mental imagery were used. Then the Iowa software test and the eye reading mind test were performed. Findings: The results obtained using univariate analysis of variance (ANOVA) showed that in this research, the induction of none of the emotions of happiness and sadness had no significant effect on the amount of theory of mind and risky decision making of participants with different levels of emotional processing. Conclusion: From these findings, it can be concluded that being exposed to emotions of happiness and sadness with moderate to relatively high intensity in the short term (less than an hour), cannot significantly alter the level of functions of theory of mind and risky decision making in the direction of improvement or dysfunction in individuals with different emotional processing levels.

The aim of present study was investigating the mechanism of decision making process from the hot cognition view. So, the effect of happiness as an emotion and cognitive styles dimensions (need for cognition, need for structure and need for decisiveness) as a motivation index on analytic decision making (based on Klaczynski (2004) dual processes model) were checked. In this model, metacognitive disposition was the mediator variable. Actively open-minded thinking checked as an index of metacognitive disposition. The sample group included 228 bachelor girl and boy students of Shiraz University. Need for cognition (Cacioppo, et. al., 1996), need for structure and need for decisiveness (Thompson et. al., 1992), happiness (lyubomirski & Lepper, 1999), actively open-minded thinking (Stanovich & West, 2007) and decision making (Klaczynski, 2001) scales were performed. Validity and reliability of the scales confirmed.Result showed the negative direct and indirect (from open-minded thinking) prediction of analytic decision making by happiness. This result repeated for need for cognition, but positively. Need for structure predicted decision making negatively and only trough open-minded thinking variable. Need for decisiveness did not predict decision making. Therefore, this study confirmed dual processes model of decision making and the role of emotion, motivation and metacognition disposition in decision making process.

Introduction: lateralization and the difference between right-hand/ left-hand subjects are the most favorite topics between scientists and researcher.. In this field, one of the most attractive topics is high levels of verbal processing like joke comprehension and humor and processing of emotions like happiness. Method: the aim of this study was investigation the difference between happiness and humor in left-hand and right-hand subjects. Finding: lateralization was studied through handedness among 384 students of Payam Noor, Tarbiat Modares, Azad, Seda va Sima and Tehran Universities. Tests like Edinburg for handedness, SHQ for humor and Oxford Happiness Questionnaire for happiness were used. Data analysis was done by T test. Conclusions: results revealed that there is difference between left-handers and right-handers in happiness and humor, happiness is more prevalent in right-handers and humor in left-handers. Conclusion: humor and happiness are lateralized in brain, so left hemisphere is responsible for happiness and right hemisphere for humor.
