This study was conducted to compare the effectiveness of compassion-focused therapy (CFT) and emotion-focused therapy (EFT) on emotional self-awareness and distress tolerance in women experiencing emotional divorce. The research method was a quasi-experimental design with a pre-test, post-test, and control group. The total statistical population consisted of 67 women experiencing emotional divorce who referred to the Rahnama Counseling Center in Tonekabon city for marital conflict resolution. Based on the scores from the Gottman Emotional Divorce Questionnaire, 45 individuals were purposefully selected and randomly assigned to two experimental groups and one control group (15 participants in the group). Participants were assessed using the Emotional Self-Awareness Questionnaire by Rieffe et al. and the Distress Tolerance Scale by Simons and Gaher. The first experimental group received eight 90-minute sessions of compassion-focused therapy and the second experimental group received nine 90-minute sessions of emotion-focused therapy, while control group did not receive any intervention. The questionnaires were administered again to all three groups after the intervention. Data were analyzed using analysis of covariance (ANCOVA). The results showed that both compassion-focused therapy and emotion-focused therapy had a significant effect on increasing emotional self-awareness and distress tolerance. However, compassion-focused therapy had a greater impact on distress tolerance, while emotion-focused therapy was more effective in enhancing emotional self-awareness. Overall, both therapies are suitable methods for improving emotional self-awareness and distress tolerance in women experiencing emotional divorce.

Introduction: Cardiovascular diseases (CVDs) are recognized as the leading cause of premature death worldwide and are seriously affected by lifestyle choices. The present study aimed to structurally model the health-promoting lifestyle in cardiovascular patients based on cognitive fusion, mediated by cognitive flexibility. Methods: The execution method was descriptive, and the research design was correlational using the Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) approach. The statistical population included CVD patients in the year 2025 who referred to three specialized heart clinics for outpatient examination and had a disease duration of at least one year. A sample of 265 individuals was selected using convenience sampling. Standard questionnaires for Health-Promoting Behaviors, Cognitive Fusion, and Cognitive Flexibility were used. Findings: Statistical data analysis was performed using the Pearson correlation coefficient and path analysis method via the bootstrap test, using AMOS24 and SPSS26 software. The research findings showed that cognitive fusion had a significant negative effect on the health-promoting lifestyle (β=-0.187, p=0.023) and cognitive flexibility (β=-0.201, p=0.017). Furthermore, cognitive flexibility showed a significant positive effect on the health-promoting lifestyle (β=0.541, p<0.001). The indirect effect of cognitive fusion on the health-promoting lifestyle via cognitive flexibility was also negative and significant (β=-0.1087, p<0.001). Conclusion: Therefore, targeted interventions in the domain of cognitive fusion, through cognitive flexibility, can lead to the promotion of a healthy lifestyle in individuals and be effective in reducing the complications of cardiovascular diseases.

This study was conducted to determine the relationship between mindfulness and positive thinking with job stress and entrepreneurial self-efficacy among elementary school teachers in Bukan city. The research method is descriptive and correlational. The statistical population is all elementary school teachers in Bukan city, which is approximately 380 people. The sampling method is simple random method. The sample size was 191 according to the Cochran formula, and after distributing the questionnaire, 185 completed questionnaires were collected. In order to collect data, the mindfulness questionnaires of Bauer et al. (2006), positive thinking of Ingram and Wisnicki (1998), job stress of Philip L. Rice (1992), and entrepreneurial self-efficacy of De Noble et al. (1999) were used, and the validity and reliability of the questionnaires were examined and confirmed. To analyze the data and examine the research hypotheses, descriptive statistics methods such as mean and standard deviation and inferential statistics methods such as population normality and correlation coefficient and univariate and multivariate regression analysis were used, and all these calculations were performed using SPSS software. The results obtained from this study show that there is a significant relationship between mindfulness and positive thinking with job stress and entrepreneurial self-efficacy. In terms of mindfulness and positive thinking, there is a positive relationship with entrepreneurial self-efficacy and a negative relationship with job stress. So we conclude that mindfulness and positive thinking increase entrepreneurial self-efficacy and reduce employee job stress.

This study aimed to present a causal model of digital narcissism among social media users based on physical self-esteem, social competence, and social identity. The research employed a correlational method using structural equation modeling (SEM). The statistical population included all high school students in Maragheh City in 2024, totaling 4500 individuals. The sample size was determined to be 381 participants based on Morgan's table. Participants were selected using a multistage cluster sampling method. Data collection instruments included the Digital Narcissism Questionnaire (ONPI), the Physical Self-Esteem Scale (CPSES), the Social Identity Questionnaire (SIQ), and the Social Competence Questionnaire (SCQ). Data analysis was conducted using Pearson correlation, bootstrap methods, and the Sobel test in SPSS and AMOS software version 26. The findings revealed that physical self-esteem and social identity, with the mediating role of social competence, significantly contributed to the explanation of digital narcissism in the proposed model. Altogether, the variables in the model explained 50% of the variance in users' digital narcissism. The direct effects of social identity (-0.33), social competence (-0.26), and physical self-esteem (-0.43) on digital narcissism were significant. Additionally, the indirect effects of physical self-esteem (t-value = -2.01) and social identity (t-value = -2.36) through social competence were also statistically significant. Given the findings, it can be concluded that physical self-esteem, social identity, and social competence have a substantial impact on digital narcissism among users. These factors should be considered in addressing the challenges of digital narcissism and enhancing the quality of online social interactions.

ABSTRACT: This study aimed to develop a causal model of anxiety based on irrational beliefs, mediated by emotional intelligence and resilience, among female first-cycle secondary school students.A descriptive-correlational design using structural equation modeling (SEM) was employed. The sample included 353 female students from District 8 of Tehran, selected via multistage cluster sampling during the 2023-2024 academic year. Data were collected using the Multidimensional Anxiety Scale for Children (MASC), Child and Youth Resilience Measure (CYRM-28), Jones’ Irrational Beliefs Test (IBT), and Schutte’s Emotional Intelligence Scale (SSRI). Data analysis was conducted using SPSS and AMOS software.The proposed model, after modifications, showed a good fit (χ2(df=92) = 263.608, CMIN/df = 2.865, CFI = .908, NFI = .904, IFI = .905, GFI = .917, RMSEA =.074). Irrational beliefs had a significant direct effect on anxiety (β = 0.494, p < 0.001). However, emotional intelligence (β = −0.046, p > 0.05) and resilience (β = −0.005, p > 0.05) did not mediate the relationship between irrational beliefs and anxiety.The findings highlight the significant role of irrational beliefs in adolescent anxiety, underscoring the need for cognitive interventions. Although emotional intelligence and resilience did not mediate this relationship, their direct pro- tective effects suggest potential for independent interventions. These results can inform counseling and educational programs to reduce anxiety among female students.
