Improving interpersonal problem solving skills in gifted students would facilitate their confrontation with everyday conflict situations. Due to the necessity of these skills in the lives of the gifted students, a creative interpersonal problem solving training program was developed, and its effectiveness on social skills of the elementary gifted students was evaluated. The design of the study was semi-experimental with pretest-posttest and control group. Among 5 different 4th grade classes in an all-girl school in north Tehran, two were randomly selected and assigned as experimental and control groups. The students in these two classes were screened by the Raven Progressive Matrix of Intelligence (1938) and the Tehran Stanford-Binet test of intelligence (Afrooz & Hooman, 1996). The experiment group participated in the interpersonal creative problem solving program, and the control group did not receive any treatment. Teacher form of Social Skills Rating Scale (Gresham and Elliott, 1990) was used to measure their social skills. The obtained data were analyzed using repeated measures analysis of the variance showed significant differences (p

Aim: The present study was designed and conducted by the aim of investigating the relationship between brain behavioral systems and Internet addiction with mediating role of loneliness and cognitive emotion regulation strategies. Method: The study was of explorative type with correlational design. The population consisted of all the male and female students in second level of secondary schools in district 4 of Karaj in 2016, among them 300 students (164 girls and 136 boys) were selected by multi-stage random sampling. They completed The Internet Addiction Test of Young (1998), The Revised form of University of California at Los Angles Loneliness Scale of Russel, Peplua and Cutrona (1980), Cognitive Emotion Regulation Questionnaire (CERQ-P) of Garnefski, Kraaij and Spinhoven (2001), and Behavioral Activation/Inhibition Systems Scale of Carver and White (1994). Data analysis was conducted through AMOS software and by path analysis method. Results: The results showed goodness of fit for the model, in which behavioral activation system had negative association with Internet addiction (- 0.566), and behavioral inhibition system had positive association with Internet addiction (0.496). Furthermore, the mechanism of the association was such that behavioral activation system decreases Internet activation through positive cognitive emotion regulation strategies, and on the other hand, behavioral inhibition system increases Internet addiction through negative cognitive emotion regulation strategies and loneliness. Conclusion: The results suggested that brain behavioral systems are of particular importance in explaining Internet addiction and it can play an effective role in individuals’ tendency to Internet behaviors involvement through loneliness and cognitive emotion regulation strategies.

Aim: Time perspective identifies a person's perception or assessing of past, present, and future. Time perspective, has an unconscious cognitive structure that a person uses in decision-making on short-term or long-term goals and actions. The aim of this study was to examine the mediating role of achievement goal in the relationship between time perspective, academic achievemen, and students' academic procrastination. Method: For this purpose, 424 (223 female, 201 male) students from different faculties (Literature, Engineering, Science) of the Persian Gulf University of Bushehr were selected by cluster sampling method and responded to the Zimbardo Time Perspective Scale (ZTPI, the form of 56 questions), Transcendental Future Time Perspective Scale (TFTPS), Measuring Target Scale 3×2 (3×2 AGQ-S), and the Academic Procrastination Scale (TPS). Structural Equation Modeling was used to analyze the data. Results: The results showed a direct significant relationship between the time perspective and achievement goal. Besides, there was a significant relationship between time perspective and academic procrastination and a significant indirect relationship between achievement goal and academic procrastination. Also, the indirect relationship between time perspective through achievement goal with academic achievement was significant. In addition, the indirect relationship between time perspective through academic procrastination and academic achievement was significant. Results of Structural Equation Modeling indicated the fitness of the supposed model in the study. Conclusion: According to the findings, it can be said that time perspective has an important mediating role in achievement goal in the relationship between academic achievement and academic procrastination. Accordingly, taking into account the time perspective role and raising awareness of achievement goal and academic procrastination can improve students' academic achievement.

The aim of this research was studied effectiveness and comparing empathy and anger management trainings on social cognition in children with oppositional defiant disorder. The method of research is experimental and research design is pretest- posttest with multi groups. The sample consisted of 54 boy students of seventh and eighth grades with oppositional defiant disorder in 2014-2015 academic years in Sari city, which were selected by multi-stage cluster random sampling and were assigned to 3 groups (2 experimental groups and 1 control groups). For data collecting were used from oppositional defiant disorder rating scale for children (Homerson et al., 2006), the structured clinical interview (First et al., 1999) and social stories (Tur-Kaspa & Brayran, 1994). For educational groups, empathy training and anger management training was executed at 8 weekly sessions in 60 minutes whereas control group have any training. The results of multivariate analysis of covariance showed empathy training and anger management training can improve social cognition (and it's components) and the effectiveness of the trainings according to eta squared is 84 percent (P

Aim: This study aimed at investigating the effectiveness of Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapies (MBCT) on loneliness feeling and shyness of students. Method: The research method was quasi experimental with pretest-posttest design and control group. Data was collected using Rasell et al Loneliness Questionnaire and Stanford Shyness Questionnaire. A total number of 30 female students with high loneliness feeling and shyness were randomly selected and assigned to experimental and control group (15 students in each group). The experimental group received 8 sessions of MBCT based on Segal and et al's (2002) instruction package; however, the control group did not receive any intervention. After the MBCT execution, loneliness feeling and shyness of the control and experimental group students were measured again. Data were analyzed using Multivariate Covariance Analysis (MANCOVA). Results: Calculated F for original hypotheses (18/11) and all the separate variables showed significant differences in both groups (P

Aim: The aim of the present study was to examine the relationship between mindfulness and mind reading ability and decision-making styles of rational, avoidant, dependent, and intuitive university students. Method: For this purpose, 182 students (71 males and 111 females) were selected from Bonab universities via multi-stage random sampling and completed the questionnaires of Scott and Bruce's Decision-Making Styles Inventory (1995), Kentucky’s Inventory of Mindfulness Skills (KIMS), and Reading the Mind in the Eyes Test (RMET). Results: According to the findings, there was positive relationship between mindfulness and mind reading ability and rational and intuitive decision-making styles. Besides, there was a significant negative relationship with dependent decision-making style. There was also significant negative relationship between mind reading ability and avoidant decision-making style. In addition, rational and dependent decision-making styles were predictable by both mindfulness and mind reading variables. But, avoidant and intuitive styles were only predicted by mind reading ability. Conclusion: According to the findings, it seems that people's decision making can be improved by mindfulness skill training and strengthening the ability of mind reading.

Aim: Since organization members are among the most important assets of higher education institutes, surveying and identifying factors associated with these sources which can be effective on their members' performance, have gained increasing importance. Accordingly, the aim of this study was investigating and predicting the cognitive distortions based on irrational beliefs and cognitive fusion in office members of Hamadan Payame Nour University. Method: To conduct the study, using random stratified sampling, a sample consisting of 240 office members of Hamadan Payame Nour University was chosen. Data were gathered through Irrational Beliefs (Jones,1986), Cognitive Distortions (Bek & Weissman, 1978), and Cognitive Fusion (Gillanders, 2010) Questionnaires. To evaluate the relations among variables, Pearson Correlation and Multiple regression were used. Results: The results showed that the irrational beliefs and cognitive fusion correlate positively and significantly and have significant predictive effect on cognitive distortions of Hamadan Payame Nour University office members. Conclusion: According to the results, irrational beliefs and cognitive fusion have predictive role on cognitive distortions; therefore, by educating and management of rational beliefs and effective cognitive factors, cognitive distortions of Hamadan Payame Nour University office members could be reduced.
