Introduction: This study was performed to determine the role of news source on Individuals’ Persuasion with Moderation of Attitude to News source, and Self-esteem. Method: The statistical population of this study included all sophomore and junior B.A students who were studying in Tabriz University from 2011-2012. Through multi-stage cluster random sampling, 4 faculties were selected, then two classes in each faculty were selected by the same way, i.e. totally 307 individuals participated in this study. The Rosenberg Self-Esteem scale and an attitude questionnaire were accomplished in each class. After all the participants answered the questionnaire about attitude on news source, the researcher asked them to watch a video which had two different versions with different logos but the same content and was made by the researchers. Then participants were asked to do the second questionnaire on persuasion. Finding: Chi Square test results indicated that news sources did have difference with each other in persuasion rate. Also, Self-Esteem rate is effective in persuasion rate so that individuals with low self-esteem show higher persuasion rate. Conclusions: The results show that those who had positive attitude to the news source had higher persuasion rate while the opposite case had lower one. In addition, the research results represented that persuasion rate is different in both genders and females are persuaded more than males.

memory is studied as an individual subject, though we know that the social aspects of human life affect not only our obvious behaviors but also our cognitive capacities such as the memory and learning processes. The study of the learning process in a bilateral relationship via the comparison of main goal of this research. Methods In this experimental research 166 elementary school students were involved in 4 groups and 8 tests. Each group was asked to rehearse a serial of words in one of the 4 possible ways (maintenance, elaborative, action and verbal rehearsal) for themselves and for others. After 48 hours a free reminder test was performed. The results were analyzed by T test and variance analysis. Results This study showed that 1) the recall rate is significantly higher in action and maintenance rehearsal compared to elaborative and verbal.2) Under time pressure, elaborative rehearsal shows a significant recall decrease compared to maintenance rehearsal. 3) The recall rate is significantly higher in elaborative rehearsal for others versus for own. Conclusions Time pressure reduces the function of elaborative rehearsal as it needs sufficient time and mental resources and for the same reason rehearsal for others increases the function of elaborative rehearsal through the increase of processing depth.

Introduction: The aim of the present study was to determine the relationship between parenting styles with a theory of mind in the students in the fourth and fifth grade. Methods: The research method was descriptive and correlational and statistical population included all fourth and fifth grade students and their mothers in the academic year in Isfahan in 2011-2012. In the society about 361(177 boys and 184 girls) students and their mothers were selected as the statistical sample using cluster random sampling from the six areas of education among girls and boys. Research tools include Parenting Styles Questionnaire (Baumrind, 1972) and Advanced Theory of Mind Test )Happe, 1994). These data were analyzed by using statistical methods, correlation and regression analysis, and analysis of covariance and t-tests. Finding: The results showed that there is a significantly negative relationship between the authoritarian parenting style and theory of mind. In addition to there is a significant positive correlation between the authoritative parenting style and theory of mind. Finally, authoritative style and authoritarian style can predict the theory of mind in the level (p< 0.01). They didn’t observe the significant communication between parents permissive style and the theory of mind. Conclusions: According to the results of this study it can be said that authoritative parenting practices has a significant role in Cognitive development and socialization of individuals because of the parent’s attention and their appropriate response.

Introduction: The purpose of this study was to investigate the Relationship between Academic Procrastination with meta-cognitive beliefs of high school students in the city of Amole. Method: The study’s samples were 374 high school students who were selected using the simple random sampling procedure. Data were collected using scales of Solomon & Rothblum Academic Procrastination and Wells & Cartwright - HattonMeta-cognition. Cronbach's alpha coefficient was used to determine the reliability of the research instruments. Findings: Data were analyzed by t-test and stepwise regression. t-test indicated that there was significant difference between male and female students of academic procrastination, so procrastination of male is more than female. But there was not difference in meta-cognitive beliefs between two groups. Stepwise multivariable regression analysis revealed that among the components of meta-cognitive beliefs, cognitive uncertainty was stronger predictor for academic procrastination. Conclusion: There was no significant difference between male and female in meta-cognitive but significant difference in academic procrastination and cognitive uncertainty is useful in prediction of Academic procrastination.
